Grandparent favouritism

How do you deal with grandparents obvious favouritism of grandchildren? I have completely distanced myself now but still find it hurtful. Has anyone been in this situation?

Exactly as you have done, very low contact.

It’s like my children belong to someone else’s for my parents. Yet me sisters kids are doted on.
My son once commented that my mother’s house is like a shrine to my niece with multiple pictures of her on walls, side boards, on my mums keys, in photo frames all over the house.
He never commented on the lack of even one of him or his sibling.

I take my mum shopping about once a week and my son used to come too when he was little.
She would get to the till with piles of pink plastic crap piled up in her shopping trolley, nieces favourite biscuits, crisps, drinks, meals, toys (for birthday/Christmas apparently).
Never even a 99p Easter egg for my little son at Easter but at least 4 for my niece.

She still does it now but for my now grown up nieces kids.

Yep, hurtful but what can you do?

According to MN, the replies will now be about how grabby and entitled I am as I have posted about this before and was ripped limb from limb.

Ils never bothered with our dc. Well they did for a year until sil gave birth to Christ The Resurrection.... I backed away and stopped worrying about dc having a relationship with them.. They never saw dc more than an hour a week. Until we divorced and exh took them round all the time! Am sure sil was fuming... Tbf it was her calling the shots and ils pandering to it. They provided free childcare for sil for 6 dc all in all. Never even took ours to the corner shop. Sil's dc had trips abroad and a caravan bought..

Thanks both, sounds extremely familiar, especially the picture thing, my mum has not one single picture of my children in her house but countless ones of my nieces. She also puts up constant pictures and videos of them on WhatsApp daily, I'm talking like 20 videos a day that type of thing but never any of my children, showing all the days out she's had with them, all the sleep overs, all the things she's bought them.
