Helping my DS blow off!

My first post and I am using abbreviations Confused

What is the best method you find helps your child pass wind whilst sleeping.

Whilst it's getting better my son is occasionally grunting and straining to release the wind in his stomach. The 2 methods I use are to bicycle kick his legs and/or push on the soles of his feet forcing his knees up until his bum raises slightly.

It's becoming the best feeling in the world to hear him pop a fart out and go back to sleep. Without this he often wakes himself up trying to release gas.

Helping him pass wind is a lifesaver. I can't wait until he can do it himself.

Do you mean wind in the stomach(burps) or the bowel(farts)? Though one will often lead to the other. Burps that go down rather than up can be more uncomfortable than regular farts.

Either way, what you say your doing is probably the best method. My DS trouble is more burps but resists any attempt to help get the gas out.

Also lying them on their left side is better, flat for farts, slightly inclined for burps.

Depends how old. If over 14 the pull my finger method never fails

Yes I have found he sleeps better when he is on his right side. He is 3 weeks old but we are pleased lots of the techniques from here and YouTube are working well.

I will try this in 13 years, 11 months and 8 days. Give or take a few hours. SmileSmileSmile
