Confused about school ones for absence

So I know the new legislation means if kids miss more than 5 days for unauthorised absence that there will be a fine

is that 5 days across the school year or per term?

I asked at my daughter's school and they weren't sure, and online it doesn't say.

Title should be school fines not school ones 🤦🏼‍♀️
