Changing my daughters nappy

I don't like anyone changing my daughters nappy other than me, husband, Mum & MIL.

Is this a common feeling?

That's normal who else would need to?

thistimelastweek · 02/06/2024 19:29

Why would anyone else want to?

That’s fine as long as she doesn’t need to go to nursery or childminder.

Only me, DH and nursery have ever changed my son. He’s 2.5.

Seems pretty normal and fine to me. I’m not sure why anyone else would need or want to.

Depends if she goes to childcare or not?

But otherwise who else would be changing it anyway? Pretty sure DH and I were the only ones that ever did our DC, apart from my mum occasionally.

Well apart from those who do her childcare, who is likely to be changing it?

CurlewKate · 02/06/2024 20:35

I think you need to think about why you feel like this- but I can understand having very protective feelings even if I didn't share these particular ones.

What about your Dad and FIL?

I don’t know who else other than nursery professionals would need to?
My SIL changed DS when he was still in nappies but she was pregnant with her first and wanted to learn how to do it. I was fine with that and happily changed her DD’s nappy when I babysat for her later. Why would anyone who’s not a trusted family member or professional ever change them? Or close friends maybe.
