i thought fsid said cot bumpers were ok ...

just watched this link and they seem to be suggesting that cot bumpers are a risk for sids. the video is only a year old aswell.

FSID official position is that cot bumpers "have neither good nor bad effects in terms of cot death risk".

fsid is only for the uk though isn't it? find it odd that different countries are giving different advice. surely cot bumpers are the same whatever country you are in!

I put a cot bumper at the foot end of the cot, hoping to prevent DS getting his legs stuck between the bars of the cot when I put him in his cot for short periods during the day. Didn't work - he just wriggles further up and gets his legs stuck in the middle of the cot!
He wears a sleeping bag at night, so doesn't get his legs stuck at night, thank God.

i have some cute pics of dd1 and dd2 in the cot lying sideways with legs sticking out. sleeping!
