Hi,

Looking for some advice my DS has been sliding himself backwards for a good 6 weeks and has suddenly stopped, it’s been about a week, like he’s totally forgotten.

Instead he now pulls himself into a sitting position each time I put him on his belly.

Has anyone experienced this? Could this be the start of like a regression or something!?

Any advice would be appreciated!

thanks.

@TinyTeachr

Thank you.

if you don’t mind me asking did you see any signs with your daughter when she was around this age?x

Yes. She has always stimmed. She flaps her hands and bounces on the spot and puts her face really close to things. Has done those things as long as she's had the coordination to do so. Also was prone to SPECTACULAR meltdowns when upset or when unexpected things happen. Very worn out by social interaction.

BUT all of those things are present in NT babies too. It's the extent of them that was unusual.

Also, one of my boys may have ASD (preschool are keen that I aeek an official diagnosis). But he is quite different. Stimming behaviours present, but not obviously till nearly 3. He was a fast and early crawler too. Don't read too much into things at this young age - there are no reliable indicators, and you can't change the outcome anyway.

So I put him on his tummy and he lifts himself up and pushes into the sitting position x

Some babies never crawl, he might be a bum shuffler.
