Panicking, 2 week baby was in the bath I was slowly pouring water on his Muslin on his stomach to keep him warm but as he turned some of the water got in his mouth and he panicked a lot and coughed I couldn't make out how much he swollowed !!Should I take him to hospital ?? He had a bottle after and he's laid asleep right now it's hard to tell if anything's bothering him as he has acid/colic and he's normally unsettled due to change of milk to cows milk allergy , I'm scared as he was born at 36 weeks and was on oxygen due to wet lungs I've read online that his getting water in his lungs could cause him to be hospitalized I don't know what to do I'm panicking !

If he swallowed the water it'll be in his stomach, not his lungs. I'm sure he'll be fine.

If there’s a chance he inhaled it then I’d phone 111, secondary drowning is a thing and he’s very young at 2 weeks.

I think to reassure yourself you could phone 111 and see what they say. Absolutely nothing wrong in getting checked!
I’m sure your baby will be okay but it might help ease your worries.

@Hiddenvoice & @Overthebow I've called to hospital just to be on the safe side as I have anxiety and I won't sleep otherwise

Going forward perhaps for now if he's a wriggler forget the bath, just wash down.

Yep I sure am going to do the wipe down, I was just trying to help him as he gets really bad trapped wind daily x

Hope your little one is okay today @elly1255 and you’re feeling less worried!

@Hiddenvoice I fell a lot better they only checked his sats as they " forgot " we was in a side room and left us there for 5 hours then said it's another 4 hour wait I had to discharge him after making sure his obs and oxygen was good as he had no more milk and they didn't help me like they said they would I was furious but fortunately he is okay and they said if he inhaled his oxygen would show that
