Do you treat allergy rashes

Hi. My little one has had reactions to milk and soy and GP diagnosed CMPA and I modified my diet. GP never saw the hives or rash or looked at any photos. We are weaning now and he has had an immediate reaction to another food. He is unsettled for the past 2 days since exposure and still has a rash running the lenght of his body. Advice again over the phone is to cut this food out. Is it safe to accept a rash for days once his breathing is ok? He is uncomfortable and unsettled with mucousy nappies and nasal congestion but that has happened before and was ok. The rashes have cleared sooner than thisin the past. I am reluctant to go to A&E when breathing etc is fine but am a bit uneasy about the lingering rash and the fact that the GP hasn't actually seen it. Has anyone experienced this? Is this normal for allergy babies who present with a rash?
