Should I separate my kids into different rooms?

I have a 2 and 3 year old in the same room. They have always encouraged each other into rambunctious behaviour. E.g shouting, taking off their sleep sacks, throwing bed covers and pillows out of their cots.

they have discovered the art of climbing into each others cots. So I'll have to take down the sides. I'm dreading this. I know they'll keep getting out of bed and it'll be a battle to get them to stay in bed. Any suggestions? Should I put them in separate rooms? Or just take the sides of their cots down and deal with what happens next?

Gate on the door and separate rooms.

Yes 100%. Wish we’d done it sooner

Thanks the problem is we have 1 room in the loft so it means one of them going up to the top , bit inconvenient but it's probably the best solution at this stage ... sigh
