9 month old milk intake

Hi!

My baby is currently 9.5 months old. We started solids around 5.5 months and over the last few weeks she has really gotten into her food and is currently having 3 meals per day. With her increased interest in food her milk intake has really dipped which I expect is normal but I can't help wonder if she's getting enough and whether I need to tweak her schedule as sometimes she'll only take 2oz... currently a typical day looks like:

6:30/7am bottle - will drink around 4oz

8am breakfast - porridge made with 2oz whole milk and fruit

11:30 bottle - will drink around 2 oz

12:30/1pm lunch

3:30 bottle - will drink around 4 oz

5pm dinner

6:30/7pm bottle - will drink around 5oz

Does this sound about right? Should I change the bottle schedule? Any tips and advice would be much appreciated!

Tia x

Sounds about perfect OP. 400ml of milk it best at this age, alongside three meals and you're about right with that.

@lightsandtunnels thank you so much! That's very reassuring! X

So she's having 15 floz of formula plus 2 floz of whole milk? I think this sounds perfect as long as you're giving her vitamins too. You're aiming for 13,5 floz of formula a day between 10 and 12 months.

There's a good schedule and sample menu in this guide from the Caroline Walker Trust which may be helpful? Wink

Looks absolutely fine to me! You could even drop one of the lunch bottles down so volume for the other one increases perhaps?

My LO is almost 11 months and apart from his morning bottle he’s not bothered about milk in the slightest. I just try and get lots of dairy in. We are following this at the moment;

7.30am - 8oz bottle

9am - breakfast

11.30am - snack (cheddar cubes and crackers/apple, something like that) this was a bottle until a few weeks ago when he started refusing.

1pm-1.30pm lunch

2.30pm - occasionally 2/3oz milk before nap depending on the size of lunch.

5pm - dinner

6.30pm - 2 oz milk in sippy cup and snack (small bowl porridge or oat bar) - started this last week when he refused a bottle completely.

he has multivitamins and whole milk used in cooking where possible. He’s 91st centile so definitely eating enough.

Thank you all so much! I will try dropping the mid morning feed and see how we go! Will get some multivitamins today too 😊
