Should we change schools

So we didn't put our first choice school down as we were told by a lot of people our child wouldn't get in as its so oversubscribed. Turns out they had spaces after all places were allocated. We put down our second choice first and our child is just finishing his first year. He enjoys school, has made friend's and things are fine. But I cant shake the feeling of regret not putting the first choice down, its more academic, they seem to organise more events and outings and has a better rating and inspection report. Im really considering seeing if we can transfer for his second year but my DH is really against this. My child likes his current school but would be open to moving as he has a few friends that go to the new school, has anyone done this before? How did it work out? Both are close to our home

Silly putting the second choice first on the list but you now know that. Your DH and the child need to visit the other school and I’d rather move a child early than once they’ve settled in and made best friends

Never listen to rumours. People are probably trying to stop others applying because they themselves want the space for their own kids. 😆

Yeah kicking myself now, I think it was a low birth rate year too which I should have looked into, just debating do we move him now or leave him where he is?

I wouldn't change, being settled is so important. I also wouldn't go by the Ofsted report, it doesn't mean much in terms of quality of education, it's just about who plays the tick box game better.
