I’d be phoning 111 for advice and keeping the bottle to hand in case they asked what was in each gummy/quantities of vitamins etc

Theunamedcat · 23/05/2024 08:53

He will probably puke spectacular colours tbh I remember ds doing this Dr's weren't concerned especially after he threw up in technicolor

Call 111. Don't just assume it's ok.

You could also phone the local chemist and ask to speak to the pharmacist if 111 are taking a long time to call back.

MrsDTucker · 23/05/2024 09:09

Assume you are keeping him home?

Hope he's ok.

Milesandmilesandmiles · 23/05/2024 09:13

Did they contain vitamin A? One of my DC did this and 111 ended up speaking to the National Poisons Information Service about the Vitamin A content, as it can be toxic. They will most likely want to know his weight and how many he could have consumed.

(In my DC’s case it was fine although they did want us to have them checked out in person)

chychyete · 23/05/2024 09:14

Yes definitely keeping him home from nursery as I don't know what might happen praying nothing yes the multivitamin had vitamin A as they all do really thank you for all the well wishes I appreciate it

Hope your little one is ok

Most vitamins are water soluble so low risk. There are 4 that aren't these would potentially more troublesome but don't panic! Vitamin a is the main one.

The likelihood is 111 or pharmacy will say keep an eye on things and don't give the multivitamins for a few days. Get checked and again don't panic!

Theredoubtableskins · 23/05/2024 10:57

He will most likely be absolutely fine. My friend grabbed a drank a whole bottle of tixylix about 30 years ago, when it was full of sugar and yummy for a 3 year old. These things happen! Mostly, your body just gets rid of excess vitamins in urine and he would have to take an awful lot to reach any sort of toxicity level. Try not to worry!

WinkyTinky · 23/05/2024 10:59

I would follow the advice from 111, but just to try and reassure you, my son did the same when he was about 3 or 4, but it was almost a full bottle of about 30 gummies, and he was fine.

Upinthenightagain · 23/05/2024 11:01

Dd who is also three did the same a few weeks ago. She’d easily had 3/4 of the jar. We already had a gp appointment that day for something else so I took it with me and the gp got the pharmacist to have a look. Said it was fine. Might get diarrhoea. She didn’t though. I didn’t give her any for about a week afterwards

chychyete · 23/05/2024 11:54

Thanks everyone for the advice little update everything is fine so far he's been happy and playing no upset tummy or sickness the doctor on the 111 call said he's fine because of his weight and asked a few questions she said if things do change take him to hospital but so far so good ... she also said don't give him anymore vitamins for a week lol
