Chasing up RSVPs

First time organising a party as a socially awkward parent... 😂

Sent out invitations to 8 children at nursery, 4 yes and 4 no reply.

For context this is a private nursery and I have no contact with the parents, invites were handed out via nursery staff.
I put a RSVP deadline on there and I do need to know numbers as it is a pay per head pre booked activity.

Should I send a quick follow up note via nursery to the 4 children checking if they can make it? I don't want to look needy and chase people but I also don't want to invite 4 new children (we've pre-booked spaces so want to fill them) and then some of these turn up!

Or do I just assume not replying means no? I've always personally replied either way but maybe this isn't the norm.

Help me stop overthinking this please! 😂

How long ago did you send them out?

3 weeks ago now, another 3 weeks to go to the party. Maybe I was too keen sending them so early? We had to move the party a week later already as invites came home for another party on the original date so I thought I best get invites out quick so it didn't happen again but maybe people just forgot about it with it being so far in advance!

I would leave it, assume no, invite 4 other children and gives names on the door to the party venue. Anyone else needs to pay on arrival.

Usually the venue will want numbers by a certain date, send a reminder a week before that date.

Send a reminder a week beforehand - these things are notorious for going missing in the parent-nursery-parent line of communication

I'd write an email reminding them about the invite and ask if they could RSVP then send it to nursery and ask them to forward it on to the parents of the 4 who haven't yet responded.

You sent the invite 6 weeks before the party? I'd assume they wouldn't want to commit so early (seeing as it's just a toddler party of a child they don't know) and probably forgot.

I'd send a gentle reminder. I wouldn't have sent the invite out so far in advance.
