Cup suggestions for 6 month old

My DS won't take a bottle (we've tried everything!) so I'm looking at trying him with a cup for my expressed milk when he's 6 months old, or when he's able to sit up/ready for solids, so that my partner can help with feeds. It'll likely just be 2 or 3 times a week that it'll be used. Can anyone suggest a cup that would be good for this age? I wasn't sure if an open cup or straw cup would be better. Or is that age still too early? (Happy to wait and continue to breastfeed if too early still, I don't want to force or rush anything, but thought if it's possible at this age it would help a lot) Thank you!

I would just get a selection and try them out. We used all sorts and they mostly took to them all. The sippy type cups are useful for being out and about later on as open cups are a pain when travelling.

I used a tommee tippee sippy cup and a doidy cup, but he didn't take much more than a few sips until he was about 10-12 months. It's good for him to practise using a cup anyway.

I also EBF, but managed to get him taking a bottle when he was about 8 months. It seemed like he suddenly realised there was milk in there!

Tum tum straws cup 100000% both my children used these cups from 6 months, takes a few weeks to get the hang of it but they get there quickly.

We have tried a variety of types but like the cheapest Tommee Tippee sippy cups for milk. I also like the Tum Tum and Munchkin straw cups but don’t put milk in them as they are hard to clean properly. I find open cups too messy as my DD just treats them as messy play and tips the liquid everywhere.

Definitely wouldn't use an open cup when you've gone to the effort of expressing- it will mostly end up on the floor 😅

We also started with the really basic sippy cups, and both mine got the hang of it quickly at 6 months – they could drink a fair bit if motivated to (although DD2 was a purist and would only take breastmilk direct from the source). I'd still say it was more of a snack than a full meal, though, unless your husband is prepared to spend a fair bit of time on it.

My DD wasn't into bottles as she was bf but she loves Tommee Tippee sippy cups and once she knew how to use straw she absolutely loved Munchkin click lock tip and sip straw cup.
