Bottle aversion due to gastrobug tips

Hi all,

I’m a first time mum to a 6 month old boy. He is bottlefed but we just started solids about a month and a half ago and he has taken to them great.

He suddenly had a temperature on Friday night and the gastroenteritis is hitting his tummy hard. No vomiting just diarrhoea and a temperature. We brought him into a&e after talking to the caredoc on Saturday. They monitored him and released us. He seems to have gotten a bottle aversion since (I know it sounds crazy as he is too young to associate it with the pains) but he is eating no problem and will take the bottle only when he is half asleep and not noticing what is going on. Any tips to encourage him back to the bottle? Docs just said keep him hydrated which is hard when he only drinks asleep

please help!!

Soup, ice lollies, ice cream, milk/water in a beaker/sippy cup until he’s feeling better. When he’s back to his usual self retry the bottle when awake maybe.
