I’m looking for a seat for my ds - he’s very big for his age , although he probably meets the weight for a forward facing high back booster due to his age I think that’s unsafe? He has been in a joie spin but I hadnt realised how much over the weight limit he is - please can someone recommend a good seat for us ? Thankyou !

The weight limits for erf are usually 18kg and 25kg so if you search for 25kg erf you should find something. Brimax and axkid are both seats I've seen mentioned on parenting sites. My daughter is at the opposite end of the scales so I've looked into the next car seat or higher weight car seats
There are erf Facebook group that can be very informative but I've not had to use them.
What car seat do you have as some are outgrown based on height rather than weight. My daughter has the maxi Cosi mica and that is up to 105cm. I would be looking at a new seat very quickly being potentially 3kg or 16% over the limit is not good!

If you can, it's safer to delay using a high back booster until 4.5-5 years at a minimum when their skeleton is just that bit more mature. Plus at three, many children will play with the belt, slip their arm out, slump down, etc. – because they're three.

A 25kg extended rear facing seat will probably get you about another year. There are a handful of 36kg extended rear facing seats – Axkid do one, and Britax, and BeSafe, and maybe others. If you can, that's what I'd go for in your situation.

We have just bought a Britax Max safe Pro for our 18kg 3 year old.
