Could just have scratched it at some point, I wouldn't worry too much. If it reoccurs maybe send a pic to doctors for their opinion.

Possibly. Get a swab from the GP. That’s the only way you will know for sure. It’s important to know and treat (if advised by GP) as the virus can spread into the nose and eyes especially on babies who touch their face all the time.

Just because you and your husband have never had one doesn’t mean you are not carrying the virus. Only 20% to 40% who carry HSV 1 develop cold sores.
