Hi all, first post here. My DD started with a runny/bunged up nose on Monday and has a bit of a cough now. I found out that her school friends have got slap cheek with the rash but none of them had any other symptoms. DD isn’t unwell and hadn’t had a temperature but I’ve got a bit of a dilemma. DS is one and we’re having a party on Sunday. He’s fine and not showing any symptoms yet. I don’t know much about also cheek apart from what I’ve read on Google that once you have the rash you’re no longer contagious and you spread it from mucus droplets and incubation period is 4-14 days.
i really don’t want to cancel DS first birthday party if she’s got something else and not slap cheek, but neither do I want to pass slap cheek to family members so what I’m after is a bit more in for if anyone has the answer to the following;
• Can some children have no symptoms while others have some?
• How long is there between having the cold symptoms and the rash developing? One thing said a few days, another said after the cold symptoms have gone and another after the fever has gone.
• Are you still infectious if you have no symptoms at all?
