DS is 3 in the summer holidays and has been on a bit of a hitting spree at nursery. I am of course mortified.
I also had no idea about it as instead of giving me the usual incident forms they have been recording "all the incidents" in a book they've never shown us. Apparently they thought we were aware of it but we have never been shown it or told about it. I thought he was well settled and there weren't lots of issues.
He had a really bad week this week and hurt four children before 11am on Monday. This is very extreme as before then it has been an incident a week (if what they've recorded is accurate). We weren't told at all. If I had I would have been really concerned and maybe thought about him doing a shorter day today as he is perhaps overtired. Again he had a really bad day and they did tell us today but I feel so awful that he has been hurting other children and that he has not been settled. I've just ordered hands are not for hitting. He is speech delayed and I think that could be why he is lashing out (not condoning it at all I'm just trying to understand it).
They want him to be looked at by the ed physc which feels like a big thing to spring out of the blue on us. I am so upset by the whole thing and really don't feel its been handled well.
