18 month old has fever, cough and cold

Hey guys. My 18 month old DS has a fever, cough and cold since the last 2 days. The whole family got it tbh, I think it’s because of the weather that keeps changing. Now my 18 month old has it and he’s crying a lot. He’s sneezing so much too and his breathing is loud too, seems like he has phlegm on his chest. I called the GP this morning who gave a phone appointment and the GP said to just keep giving him calpol as it’s a viral infection. He didn’t prescribe antibiotics because DS has been given them 4 times in the last 7-8 months or so, because of ear infections. Doctor did say it will get better with calpol within 3-4 days but I’m so worried seeing DS like this as he’s so upset and his breathing sounds so loud and uncomfortable. Any advice on what I can do for his cough and cold, and also for his chest? Any help would be much appreciated.

Take him in to get checked out - when my toddler had similar the remote consultation missed tonisillitis

If his chest is bad try some snuffle babe it really helps with congestion as well as some saline nasal spray x
