Being a parent is so hard

I'm struggling. I knew being a parent would be hard, but I'm finding this tougher than I ever imagined. Loving him is the easy part. Dealing with the constant demands, ever changing hormones, changes in relationships (marriage, in laws, friendship). My son is 5 months old.

Is it just me? I feel like a completely different person - my feelings, perspective, boundaries, they've all changed.

Hoping this resonates with someone.

Honestly the first year is just relentless. You're body is healing, hormones are all over the place and suddenly you need to care for a whole other human.

It's rough. It literally drains all your energy and brain power.

I remember crying in the toilet at 4am from utter exhaustion. I dont think me and DP actually sat down, had dinner or talked for about 6 months. Split shifts to care for the baby and work meant we barely spoke let alone had a relationship.

Hold on hun. I promise you it gets so much easier. It's a new way of life. It's new it's different but it becomes so much fun.

If you're ever really struggling please speak to your doctor though but I promise you you're not alone

I hear you! I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old. No words of wisdom I'm afraid but you're not alone.
