Mud kitchen on patio?

We have a pretty small garden which is mostly patio. I think my 3.5yr old would really enjoy a mud kitchen but is putting one on a patio a terrible idea?

You can have a play kitchen without it being a mud kitchen. What about a water play table? Usually you have a mud kitchen where you have mud (because the dirt has to come from somewhere). If you have a mostly patioed garden, you won't have loads of mud for play anyway. I'd go for a water table or play kitchen that you can integrate water play into - and avoid the mud.

Our mud kitchen is mostly water, sand, flowers, etc etc. Not actually mud.

Id prefer ours to be on patio really - close to house so I can be in the kitchen and keep an eye on him, and more easily accessible in the winter when the garden really is muddy!
