14 yo girl responsibility

I am a single father of a 14 yo girl who I have joint custody of. I feel she lacks responsibility both at my house and her mothers. After working her job this weekend and making over 100 dollars she wanted to go out with her friend for supper. Her original plan was to get her friend to pay and she would pay her back. I told her that this isnt nessasary as she just made money this weekend and its ok to spend some of it. She then went on a tangent about how i should be paying for her supper. In gerenal she doesnt pay for much. Am i wrong for asking her to pay for a meal for herself when shes out with a friend? Is 14 to young to be asking this of her?

Strange.

Of course not.
Anyone who is old enough to earn money, is then old enough to use some of it to fund their social life.

You're not being unreasonable. She needs to learn financial responsibility, and she shouldn't expect you to foot the bill for everything she wants to do.

@Kyle1984 your job is to provide food at home. her pt wage is to make her more independent so she should use it to pay for evenings out and bits of clothing. if she wants to eat out then it is on her, not you.
