2 year old funding

Please can someone explain or point me to where I can get a clear explanation about the 2 year old funding and who qualifies.

I am currently on Mat leave and I work one day a week. I earn just less than the lower limit of £8670 so I assumed I didn’t qualify. Sadly my work don’t have the funds at the moment to up my hours so I could qualify.

However, my HV has just visited and said ALL 2 year olds qualify and it isn’t on my wage anymore? Which would obviously be ideal for us! Does anyone know?

Reading this back I think I should explain this is for my middle child who is 2 1/2 not the baby I’m on Mat leave with!

If you are on maternity leave you qualify but if you are back working you have to satisfy the earnings limit you have found. Are you still on official maternity and doing KIT days? What is your normal salary when not on maternity?

I am still on maternity at the moment but due to end in the next couple of months. My normal salary is just less than £8000.

I thought this too so I’m confused why my HV was convinced I would qualify!
