Taking baby on Eurostar - quick questions!

Hello! We're off on the Eurostar tomorrow and there are two things I would like to know from anyone who's used it recently...

  1. do you need to fold up a pushchair and put it through the luggage scanner? Or can it be brought through the metal detector gate?

  2. now we've left the EU you're technically not supposed to bring dairy into the EU- I know an exemption is made for powdered formula, but does anyone have rceent experience of bringing a couple of large cartons of ready mixed formula?

Thanks!

Haven't done Eurostar with baby but common sense says stroller will go through scanner and baby formula will be fine! Enjoy the trip

We did it last year with a 7 month old. Pushchair can be left up with baby in it but needs to be completely empty.

We took loads of the ready made bottles of formula plus one tub and it was fine!

In London, once they made me take out my sleeping baby and put the pushchair in the scanner. The other time, they let me push it through the metal detector but searched the pushchair very carefully. They also went through all the food and drinks for my dd.

In Brussels, they didn't even check the pushchair and didn't make me take my baby out. They looked into my bag and asked what the food was for - when I told its for the baby, they just said ok and handed me my bag.

It's really depends where you are going and who is on a shift, I think - at least to my experience.
