Lump on head

Hi all
My 18month DD has a pea sized lump on head, not directly behind ear but little further up. Discovered it a couple of days ago, tried drs walk in centre they turned us away when it closed loads of people didn't get seen, nearest appointment is on 20th may which isn't close, should I try finding a private drs or something? She hasn't banged her head or anything. It can't be a swollen lymph node because I can feel 3 of them, after googling it's in the occipital place?! I've been out of mind worrying so been googling and looking at diagrams, all sorts. I don't know if it's part of a bone other side of head also has a rounded bit but not as prominent. I just don't know if my anxiety can take waiting so long till appointment not sure what next step to take in finding out what it is

Any advice is appreciated. I know I can't get diagnosis on here I'm just wondering if anyone else has had similar situations with Thier little one

TIA

They do have little chains of lymph nodes that can feel like peas in this location I think?

My DS has always had this.

May be more noticable after an illness / cold or if they have eczema ?

Hello, she has eczema. The lymph nodes I have felt, 3 in that area. This is above them which is what's concerning me, took her to pharmacist they said we will need to just wait for GP appointment.. :(

I understand how awful the worry is when you find anything like this. Try not to panic, easier said than done I know, but chances are it’s something totally normal that you just haven’t noticed before. Can you post a pic of the back of your LO’s head showing where abouts you can feel the lump? Is it hard/soft, moveable or not etc?

I’m the same, such a horrible feeling. I just had a feel of my toddler’s head in the same area and it feels boney there. It might just be the bone shape? Does it feel hard as if it could be the skull formation?

BubblePopPop · 08/05/2024 17:54

I’m sure it’s absolutely normal like I said, but if you’re worrying can you not call on a morning when your doctor opens to get a same day appointment?
