Dd2.5 is in nursery 4 full days a week. I used this bank holiday to start her toilet training, shes non verbal.

I used the technique of saying, ' I want the toilet, toilet ' and showing her a picture of a toilet and taking her there.

We started 6 pm Friday. Out of 7 wees she had 3 accidents

Saturday
I put a nappy on at nap time, and it was dry for 2 hours!
And during the day there was 1 accident

Sunday
Again nap time nappy dry for 2 hours and 4 accidents over the course of a 14 hour day

Monday
Entirely went to pot. 9 accidents, weeing every 15/ 20 mins

She goes to nursery tomorrow until the weekend. Do you think I can chance them tolerating this level of toilet training?

Help please !

I wouldn't. She's still only little. She's having too many accidents so she's not ready.

My 2 and a half year old announced he wanted to pee in the toilet. He's dry for hours and was keen and asking to go himself, so we gave it a bash and it became apparent quickly that he's not ready. Sometimes they seem ready but actually aren't.

Just abandon it and try again in a few months.

Have you contacted the nursery to see what their stance is on it? I was worried about sending our twins in shortly after starting potty training (3 days). One was getting it, the other wasn't. By the end of the first day at nursery and about 5 pairs of trousers they were still nice to me and gently said what had happened! But I was grateful they were on board when I wanted to try. If they are good they should be supportive?

Thank you both, so utterly appreciated.

I will check with the nursery tomorrow otherwise I'll never pluck the courage to do it !

Update, the nursery have been great and they're following my cue.

She has had max 2 accidents at nursery any given day and so the pursuit continues.

I cannot give up now. Thank you both
