Baby feeds... advice please

My little boy is 4 weeks old, he was born 6 weeks premature however.

He goes every 2.5-3 hours for a feed and sometimes will drain the bottle, sometimes he doesn't. ( around 3oz ) - the doctors have said he can go every 4 hours now between feeds, but I don't know how to 'push him' to that.

Demanding feeding every 2.5-3hours means he's having more than he needs in a 24 hour period and he's giving himself reflux, but we are stuck in a cycle.

He's more so demanding every 2.5 hours at night and more 3 hours during the day.

I don't know if he's waking up hungry; or something else is bothering him.

For example, he's always got his blankets kicked off. He was 5lb 3oz at birth and now he's 6lb 4oz.

He has always had blankets and never a sleeping bag etc as he's been too small, but I've found a bag for 5lb-8lb so I've ordered it as wondering if he's waking early due to feeling cold?

The point of this post is... has anyone else been in this situation and what helped your baby go longer between feeds.. I'd rather he go longer between feeds and drain the bottles most times. I know that's unrealistic ask, but I need it especially at night!!!!

He's so tiny still that 4 hours might just be too long for him to wait, draining the bottles or not. Advice tends to be to just feed on demand rather than try to establish a feeding routine but unfortunately at this stage those demands can be very frequent. How much more is he taking than he 'needs'? All babies are different so I'd take any recommended daily totals with a pinch of salt. Some babies do like to be very snuggly so it may be worth adding another layer and maybe a pair of socks if he doesn't seem that warm and see if that helps his sleep but otherwise 2-3 hourly wakes are pretty typical at this stage.
