My 2 year old has autism and he not drink out of any bottle apart from the tommee tippee ones (baby bottles), he keeps chewing them so I have to keep buying new teats which aren’t the cheapest. Can anyone give me advice or tips on how to get him onto a proper bottle please. TIA

Oh that is so tough and I bet you have people say just stop and will eventually drink from something other than a bottle, but they don’t realise the ability of an autistic child Keep their foot down! You could try putting a preferred drink in the cup you choose and and a less preferred drink in the bottle?

It could be better to move to a straw cup rather than a sippy cup or it will be another thing to change from.

Honey bear straw cups- you can squeeze it and suck it. The straws are quite tough to deal with biting and your son will be able to see the liquid through the bottle

My friend’s little girl would only drink out of the same sippy cup until one day she had bought her a new one because like you said she had bitten through it and as they were driving home she had the window down because it was a roasting summer’s day/to get some cool air in and the little girl threw it out the window! She refused to buy another 🤣

@HRL I would ask in the SN Children section. You're likely to get some responses that probably won't be appropriate for a small child with ASD Flowers
