That if they don't go out at weekends the kids just want to watch tv? No matter how much I engage books crafts baking etc they want tv. So we have gone soft play today as wet

Pls say I'm not alone lol

Plug it out. Not an option. Case closed.

I think it’s quite common and going out is the best to avoid it. I’ve never been very good at doing activities indoor with mine but my 3 year old isn’t massively into TV which sounds good except sometimes I could really do with it!

My three year old would watch tv all day if I let him. Instead he has two hour slots at the weekend (one morning and one before dinner) and in between those times we play games, go out (sometimes an activity or walk, sometimes chores like shopping) or do the cleaning, gardening or cooking. He just accepts that's that's the way it is.

You do seem to have a very compliant three year old though.

Surely you are in charge of a 3 and 6 year old and they can only watch tv when you say they can?

Our rule has always been no TV until tea time and the only an hour max. It’s easy for young ones to understand.

My 4yr old has more screen time that what is recommended, but he wouldn't watch TV all day, he would get bored after so long, as would I.

It is harder when the weather is bad , but we as a family we make an effort to get out at least once everyday. I don't see an issue with screen time if you balance it out with activities , but I think it would be a bit of problem if your children didn't want to go out or do activities they enhiy because they want to stay at home and watch TV.

@Ineedaholidayyyy that's deffo not the case as they love getting out but tricky when weather pants

Me? Sometimes yes, but like any threenager there are days when he can take a lot of cajoling if he's in a stroppy mood.
