Vomiting with Covid?

Hi, so we’ve all been loaded with cold this week, and yesterday my youngest (1) threw up at nursery while having a bottle, she came home and hasn’t been sick since, so we put it down to mucus in her tummy not agreeing with the milk, we then tested positive for Covid this morning. My eldest seems to be starting to get symptoms but nothing too bad, however she’s also just thrown up.

has anyone had vomiting alongside Covid? I have serious emetaphobia, so maybe I’m just trying to convince myself it isn’t a sickness bug, we can’t be that unlucky haha! Any advice or war stories would be appreciated!

My son had two symptoms with Covid - vomiting and changes to his sense of taste. Both really short lived - like 4 hours max then he was back to normal. Children can vomit with a fever, so it’s likely to be Covid related. None of the adults I know with Covid vomited.

Thanks so much, that has made me feel so much better!! She’s as right as rain now, and saying she doesn’t feel sick and her tummy doesn’t hurt. I really hope that’s it for the vomiting haha!

Yup it seems common from my experience and people I know that children are sick with a temp, but get over it quickly.

More confused this morning, eldest has woken up and is saying her tummy is hurting again, she hasn’t been sick since 9pm last night, but was right as rain afterwards but seems to have gone down hill this morning, starting to panic again!

We’ve just tested positive in my house for Covid and a big symptom has been vomiting. My 15 month old started with it last week and he seemed really quite poorly, was maybe sick 8 or so times over the course of 3/4 days. He also had a runny nose and seemed beyond tired, like wanted to sleep all day every day.

I was thinking it was your average viral infection or stomach bug until I also came down with the same. Started with a runny nose and sore throat for one day and then the following day out of nowhere I projectile vomited. It quite honestly was the worst episode of throwing up I’ve ever had, I am too emetophobic. I sat on the bathroom floor afterwards having a full blown panic attack shivering, it was awful.

Since then I’ve had the runny nose and constant awful nausea, I’m 21 weeks pregnant and assumed morning sickness was back but couldn’t help but feel that one intense episode of throwing up felt different. Before it my stomach HURT and I felt faint, my partner said I looked as white as a sheet of paper.

A few friends told me it could be Covid as vomiting has become more and more common and I just decided to test (my MIL is undergoing chemo so wanted to be sure before seeing her we weren’t going to pass anything on) and yup, the test was positive.

Also just want to quickly add just like your daughter my son has been very up and down. One day he seems totally himself just maybe a little more tired and loss of appetite. Then suddenly threw up again in the night and spent the next day crying and miserable. It too has been worrying me how he seems so up and down. Today is the first day (a week later) that he actually seems a little more himself entirely, he’s eaten the most he’s eaten in a week and has had some time in the garden playing.
