Hello my daughter is 5.5 months old she has really good head control and can do tummy time without getting upset on a tummy time pillow fine, but she doesn’t push up on her arms and without the pillow she is the same and doesn’t hold her head up as much. So, I mostly use the pillow but I feel like she should be able to push up on arms now or soon at least? Also any tips for tummy time on the floor I.e without the pillow?

If baby has good head control then I wouldn’t worry too much. Tummy time is a bit of an odd one, and I would be focussing less on the pillow element and more on allowing baby time to be on the floor on their back and their tummy to explore movement and discover their body and develop. Really, my understanding is that that what tummy time is all about, to remind us not to keep babies in prams, car seats or bouncers all day long. Both my babies general hated tummy time and I didn’t do it a lot until they actually enjoyed it but I was reassured by Health Visitors about it and the reason it is promoted so much. I suggest you speak to yours about any concerns you have about your baby, they will offer some good advice.
