August Birthday

Not sure if this is the right place to post.

Just wondering what people do if they have an August born in regard to birthday parties?

Do you move it to the beginning of the hols? Or leave as is? (I'm thinking during the summer people may be on hols etc).

(Questioning everything at the moment!)

Before the summer holidays usually

We usually team up with DS's friend whose birthday is in the same week of August and do a little party in the park in July before school finishes

We left it as is almost every time. DS is in the second half of August and it seemed most people, if going away, go early in the holidays. Once we held the party the first weekend back in school when lots were unable to attend in August.

My sister did DD’s in the September… celebrated her actual birthday (12th) with family… a day out etc and then had a school party when they returned in September. She did try have one on her actual birthday one year, but alot couldn’t make it, people were out of the school mind frame and forgot about it. DH had about 8 slices of cake that year!

Thanks, I was thinking I might do it the weekend before they break up or the weekend they break up. It's only 2 weeks early and we might be away ourselves for his actual birthday.

Just didn't want it to seem weird as most people know his birthday is August.

We do it on the actual date but only with a handful of selected friends whose parents I contact directly. More a birthday treat with 4/5 friends than a party really.

My sons is end of July, we always do it the weekend before they break up. A week or so early but at least friends are usually free

My son is mid august and we've always just stuck to the date. Everyone still comes, it's never been an issue.
