HELP, both ds and I getting very frustrated

DS (2yr 9mths) attempting potty training for the seond time. He knows exactly what he is meant to be doing, the delight on his face is amazing to see when he gets it right but we have hit a brick wall.
Yesterday he kept going to the potty or requesting the potty but unfortunately a little too late (was wearing pull ups so no clearing up required). Today he requested proper pants and kept reciting "wee potty, wee potty". Started morning as normal and kept to usual routine, no change to drinks given etc. Sat him on potty a few times just to "check" but nothing. Eventually got to lunchtime and he wet himself and got very upset (I didn't make big deal and just sat him on the potty as a cleared up). Sat him down to lunch, was still upset and refused his lunch so left him for five mins to calm down. In that time he wet himself again and got even more upset. Now refusing to sit on potty or wear a nappy/pull ups. Not sure what to do next

could you not let him try with bare bum?
this is what i did with my 2 as they both were the same, very upset with wetting their pants. within a week or so they had both been able to give fair warning to gt the pants off

with my ds i find that leaving no nappy on for few days and get used to being able to gte on potty in time

now we are at stage of putting pants on although he removes them and does not put them back on then in feew more days once he has tackled pants on we will try loose trousers

good luck

my ds has mastered getting himself on but finding pants tricky so will be bare bum tomorrow to get his confidance back up then i'll go for pants again next day

bare bottom seems to be a good option. it certainly worked with dd. if not leave it another week and try again

Well today he is refusing point blank to have anything to do with the potty, even denying he has a wet or dirtied his pull ups. have order couple of books from Amazon for him - potty book for boys and big boys use the potty - hopefully this may help. Think I will wait until they arrive and try again next week.
Will def try bare bum but bit chilly in Scotland right now.

ah bless him. hope the books work, maybe the wait we let him calm about it all and try again a-fresh!
good luck

Sounds as if you're trying just a bit too early. Why not stick to pull ups for a while - then try again?
