How many clothes do you have for you toddler and how many do you think I realistically need. I want to create a versatile wardrobe for my ds (2.5 years) . I'm unsure what items I need, so that I can make a few versatile outfits for different occasions and reduce my laundry pile!

We seem to have piles of stuff - much of which is from a friend with twins a year older than my LO.

The stuff he wears the most are pull-on trousers in tough yet soft stuff like needlecord, long-sleeved bodysuits and long-sleeved tops. I also find a couple of pairs of dungarees very handy. He's got two pairs of shoes, an outdoors coat (parka-style) and some warm overtrousers.

make sure, as far as possible, everything goes with everything else.

nothing creates laundry like having to wash a whole outfit, or having one pair of trousers out of action, just because the corresponding top has got muddy.

this doesn;t mean buying everything from the same shop, but more having lots of basics in solid colours.

I have dd so things are slightly different, but having 3 white + 3 pink long sleeved vests and 3 prs white + 3prs pink tights means there's always something to go under a pinafore or a pair of dungarees.

ACtually the best tip is to find a source of outgrown stuff, then you can assess what you've got and spend carefully to match to it.
EG my most recent bundle had lots of pink trous and shorts but no tops, so to get dd through the summer I'll be looking for a multipack of white tshirts with pink motifs that will all go with all the bottoms.

I would think about lots of pull up trousers/shorts if you are thinking about potty training - you might need a good number of cheapy/easily washed items for this challenge! This our next thing! So no dungarees!
