Kids Glasses - where do people go?

So my DC has a pair of prescription glasses from our local optician, she has broke them twice and is now on her third pair - each subsequent pair is £37 so I was wondering if anyone know any online opticians that would be cheaper?

Many thanks

Specsavers.

@TeenDivided specsavers are more expensive - in our local specsavers the cheapest pair are £65

Specsavers. We've never had to pay for our DC's frames and have had them replaced free of charge when broken too. What age are your DC?

TeenDivided · 19/04/2024 13:43

Even ongoing with NHS voucher and 2for 1?
(DD2 has had glasses since 5, but didn't tend to break them however.)

Specsavers - they will replace the frames for free. We have to pay extra for replacement lenses as DC has their lenses thinned.

Littlebluedot · 19/04/2024 13:46

@BodyKeepingScore she is 6.

Tip. If when you change prescription you keep the same frames, then you can transfer lenses back to old frames if needed.

@BodyKeepingScore she is 6.

If she's six she's entitled to her lenses and frames free plus a free replacement if they break. If you choose designer ones you may have to pay a contribution towards the frames but specsavers have plenty of lovely ones that you won't have to pay a penny towards.

I always just got the free frames at that age. Not supposed to buy online for kids glasses; might even be illegal as they need to be fitted to the child's face properly.

We got to Vision Express and all the repairs are free if under 16 🙂
