Sleeping bag tog question

Hello mamas,

I was wondering whether anyone could help me. I’m a FTM who obsesses too much over the gro-egg temperature (I know!)

I currently live in Spain but I’m from the UK. The temperature in our room is currently 22 degrees and I have an 11 week old. Her 1.0 tog sleeping bag which she’s been using with a vest in this temperate is in the wash. So you think it’s too warm for 1.5? could she wear the 1.5 with just a nappy? Or even with the vest? I’m terrified of her overheating, particularly as I’ve been experiencing post partum anxiety.

If anyone could help! Thanks.

At 22 degrees I'd just abandon the sleeping bag and dress her appropriately to make up for no sleeping bag.

I used to get so stressed about togs and layers to the point I barely slept for months checking on DC! When our room was 18 to 22, I think we used to dress DC in just a long sleeve vest and 1.5 tog.

Ps: my DC are older now so just sold the blasted Gro Egg on Marketplace. Never have I felt happier seeing something leave the house!!

Just the vest? Or vest and baby gro?

Thank you. It feels quite warm but maybe I’ll try the short sleeve vest with the 1.5 tog!

Ha! I can imagine. It’s hard not to obsess over them.

Vest and baby gro should be fine at 22 degrees, you can always check on her after an hour or so to see if she feels too warm

Thanks a lot! I think I’ll pop a baby gro on her soon for tonight and check her like you said.

I’d probably go by this. It’s better that shes too cold than too hot. If she’s cold she’ll soon let you know! You could also feel her chest to see if she feels too warm. I think some babies seems to be warmer than others

This.

Vest and a baby grow with the feet in lieu of a sleeping bag. If she's not warm enough with that, do you have a cellular blanket? They're fab because if you fold them they're warmer but if you keep them unfolded they let air circulate.

She'll be fine though and would cry if she's cold.

Yes, she was using one whilst we were downstairs so I’ve just brought her up and put her in the next 2 me and put it on her unfolded and tucked in for now because I didn’t want to wake her up.

I’ve opened the window slightly as well and I’m trying not to obsess over the gro egg 😅

@JDLXNDR

Aw 🥰 just wait until she's a toddler and you fling her in bed, throw the duvet over her and run like hell! 😂
