using camomile tea with washable wipes- causing sore bottom???

Have recently switched to using washable wipes and am using camomile tea with a few drops of tea tree as a solution. This has coincided with dd2 getting a bit of a sore bottom which is very unusual for her.
Do you think this could have caused it?? Has anyone else had a similar experience or can you suggest an alternative solution to use
Thanks

I would just use plain water for a bit and see what happens how do you wash the wipes?

Omit the tea tree - its a very strong oil and I think on a baby's skin should only be used well diluted in carrier oil.

We only used the camomile tea IF our boys got a sore bottom. Just use plain water, and if she gets a sore bottom try the camomile tea again. But no tea tree.

Oh and make sure the wipes have no soap powder still in - I always put nappies in an extra rinse setting.

Totally agree - tea tree oil can be very strong so you have to dilute it right down - its much more likely to be that than the chamomile tea.

Also agree with making sure the wipes are free from soap powder from the wash. Mine seem to hold onto any excess powder far more than my nappies do - discovered this went I went over to just running a dry wipe under a warm tap when I needed one , the water didn't run clear for a few rinses

It could be the tea tree I agree.

I tend to only use a couple of drops of tea tree in the actual machine, and that is only every few washes.

ok, that's a big no-no for tea tree then - oops! does look a lot better today actually, so hopefully it will clear up with just water or camomile. will check rinse too.

btw, bigbadmouse - did you say you had weenees for sale? looking for some at the mo if you do....
