Make sure they are feeding (boob or bottle) on take off especially, and landing if you can. Will equalise their ears without pain.

Pack lots of spare nappies and clothes. We somehow ended up with an upset stomach on our flight, we had three poonamies in three hours and were on our last nappy and set of clothes and praying before we got our bag back.

You can take your own car seat and pushchair for free, buy carry on bags to help protect them in the hold.

You can pack calpol in hand lugguage and ready made formula, they had checks at security but they were ok with taking these on.

Otherwise we found they were quite easy to fly with, other passengers seemed to love little babies, they were happy enough napping and looking around with the odd walk up and down the aisle when cranky.

Ooh we went at exactly the same age with our first DC - UK not overseas. Have a wonderful time!!!

We had an umbrella buggy and a lightweight tula baby carrier and it gave us so much flexibility, if you wanted to go anywhere that a buggy is a PITA just pop them in the carrier, and if you want to go out at naptime or in the evening DC was pretty happy looking at things or sleeping in the buggy

Also at this age I was combi feeding but I CBA with taking bottles so I increased feeds in the days before the holiday and just BF while away and it was much easier. Tapered feeds back down after the holiday. That's not necessarily going to be helpful for your specific situation but just in case - I was amazed how well the breast milk supply adjusted (probably part of the reason I ebf for longer with DC2 TBH!)
