Swim nappies & other hol essentials for toddler

We are going on holiday next month and we need to get organised for the 2.5 year old. We don't do much swimming at home. When we've been on holiday before we've used a disposable swim nappy. But have seen these Happy Nappies - do they work instead of a disposable? I like the idea of not filling the suitcase full of swim nappies.

Any other advice or suggestions for taking a toddler swimming? We have swim shoes, armbands, long cossie and hat.

Thanks

When DD and SIL took their 1yr old abroad they used swim nappies under a long sleeved UV suit. They also had swim shorts with neoprene legs which they used on top of the swim nappy for extra protection.Their little one never pooed when in the pool so the swim nappy was taken off carefully and dried in the sun so it could be used a second time.

Disposable swim nappies are actually reusable. Just let them dry like you would clothing.

Take a neoprene over thingie or a wetsuit. Two or three swim nappies is all you need - they are reusable, unless they poo you just need to give them a quick rinse and let them dry in the sun.

I use reusable swim nappies for my twins and they are fine. Saves space in the suitcase as well as cheaper in the long run (I have adjustable ones so have fitted my twins from 9-21 months so far and still loads of growth). With the arms bands have you tried your toddler with using these? As we went through a multitude of swim aids. And my twins now take off the arm bands.

If where you are going hasn't got any toys I would take a few water toys (watering can, cups etc). As my children would then play for awhile independently in the baby pool or on the steps of the big pool.

And the obvious make sure the suncream is waterproof
