1 year old had a non-febrile seizure

On Thursday, my 1 year old had a non febrile seizure (a week after his birthday). We called and ambulance and he was checked over, ECG fine, observations fine, no fever, no temp, just slightly high whit blood cells which is apparently normal. So we have been referred to a ‘first fit clinic’. We will have an appointment every few months I assume to see how he is.
The doctor said we can all have 1 fit in our lifetime and it be ok, I know this is true as my brother had a non febrile seizure at 11 and was fine. But i am so beside myself with worry that it could happen again, even in 6 months time. Its more the worry that he could have epilepsy.
When he was 6 months old, he woke from a nap, I went in the room and picked him up and he seemed limp and floppy but awake, I called the ambulance but then he was fine so I just took him to a&e. They said it probably wasn’t a seizure and potentially he was really just half asleep still. I told them this on Thursday and they still don’t suspect the incident at 6 months to be a seizure, however they didn’t actually do any checks at the time.
I have started sleeping with the monitor on loud again so that I can hear his every move, which is obviously affecting my sleep, but I worry I won’t hear him if anything happens.
I know I am so incredibly lucky to have my son and I shouldn’t spend my time worrying, but I really am just seeking re-assurance I guess.

hey, sorry this happened to you, my son had 3 seizures and the first 2 were horrific, the week of the 3rd we were told he had epilepsy by a nurse whilst getting tests while he slept at hospital, he had his last seizure the very next day.
we saw the top doctor in a north London hospital turns out he dosent have epilepsy and he hasn’t had a seizure in 3 years.
there was no doubt when he had them what they were we filmed them the 3rd time the first was while he was in his baby seat eating.
the chances are your child will grown out of this and they could never have another fit try not to worry so much
the hospital gave us something to give him as one fit went on for a long period and they were worried about damage but we never had to use it

@GoatGetter Thank you so much for your reply. Can I ask how close together the 3 seizures happened?
Im so glad to hear they stopped!

they were all within a space of a year, this period was incredibly stressful, i remember one of this seizures being so long i think it was 5 minutes, i am editing this just to say get a second opinion on anything like a said a nurse pointed to a screen while our son was sleeping and said this is showing me your son has epilepsy and he did not!
