Can anyone recommand a potty training guide?

I think my lo is ready to start. He's been telling me when he needs a poo for a while now and i don't want to miss the opportunity. I've no idea where to start! He is 2 in July and is a bit of a scardey-cat with anything new - ie:potties! Any advice or suggestions will be gratefully received.

Hi having just toilet my fourth dd she is 2 today! I found putting her straight on the toilet instead of the potty easier. Try bringing him in with you when you go and just getting him to take a turn sitting on the loo. I also made toilet time, story time and sat her up every other hour, for as long as it took read a potty book story.

Not sure if this helps but it is a great start if he is telling you when he goes!

Just read your profile and saw one of your fav movies was Magnolia saw it when it first came out and had forgotten it, but it a fav of mine too. Great acting especially Julian Moore. Great soundtrack to it too still have it must root it out and get it on!

I borrowed the NCT guide. It was excellent, more a sort of hints and tips guide than a regimented thing like some of them are. I especially liked that it was peppered with quotes and stories from actual mothers about what had worked for them and any probs they'd had and what had fixed it.

There's one online at Plush Pants which I wrote after potty training my tribe (we have 4), I hope it will be helpful!

Thank you all very much for your hints. I will seek out the NCT one and will look at the online one too. Ds joins me in the loo most of the time and is quite interested.
