Childcare Account - HMRC

My son is currently eligible for the 15 hour funding.

In September when he turns 3, he will be eligible for the 30 hour funding.

I know on the childcare account that you have to reconfirm details every 3 months. I have just recently done this and I am next due to reconfirm details at the beginning of August.

My question is when I reconfirm in August, how do I complete a new application on the childcare account to apply for the 30 hours instead of the 15?

I’m sorry if this is a really silly question but I am new to this and trying to get to grips with how it all works!

I think it should just appear. Because your child’s dob is registered to the account

Ok thank you, I’ve only had to apply for the code once so I just wasn’t sure. When I reconfirmed my code yesterday, I didn’t see anything so I guess I will have a look again in August when I reconfirm again 😊

I didn’t even have to apply for the 15 hrs, I just got a message saying I had the code. So I think it happens automatically. I don’t think the reconfirmation of details is related to it.

Bear in mind though that it is the term after they turn 3. So if he turns 3 in September you don’t get it till January.

It’s all automatic

Does he turn 3 in September? It’s the term after he’s 3 so he won’t be eligible until January. He will need to be 3 by August 31st to be eligible in September.

@DuploTrain @PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister My son is 3 on the 12th August so I am assuming he would fall into the September term eligibilty bracket?

Yes he should get it from 1st September then :)
