Could this be chicken pox?

I was bathing my LO tonight and noticed a handful of spots on different parts of his body that look like they could be insect bites. I showed the pictures to my friend who said it could be chicken pox. He's still got a rash from scarlet fever he had a few weeks ago but this is definitely new and more spot like than a rash. Is this what chicken pox looked like in your LO's at the start or is this likey something else. Thanks!

My 2 year old started with small pin prick red spots around 3 days ago. Last night she looked like the 1st photo, this morning after a bath she looked like the 2nd photo. No temp, loss of appetite, drinking loads of milk. Could this be chicken pox? Piriton isn’t helping with the itching or stopping the rash coming out

Looks like it to me.

They start out looking a bit like spots, zits or pimples, and you notice a couple of them, and then some more, and then suddenly they're covered in them.
