Velcro baby

hello, I spoke to someone on here as I’ve been struggling with my 5 month old daughter who will not let me put her down. They said I may have a Velcro baby. Which seems the case, this has been going on almost a month. Before this she was such a content baby. Is there any tips please. I’ve been told to have her in a carrier on me. I’m just wondering would that make it worse as I also have another child who I feel like I’ve neglected a little bit, because my daughter constantly wants me and I’m feeling real bad mum guilt.

sorry for the long post

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

No it will help! In my experience at least. Baby will be happy in carrier and you can then focus on older child. DD lived in the carrier for about 6 months and I worried she’d never nap alone but she’s a great napper now and had no trouble adapting.

Oh really? That’s brilliant, that gives me hope. Atm her naps are a lot shorter for sure. And at night fingers crossed she’s been good it’s just through out the day. I will definitely try a carrier, thank you so much for your help

I have no advice or tips but my baby was awful at that age and screamed when I left her side, even though we lived in an open plan flat (so I was never far away). When she could crawl the whining stopped almost over night. I think it could be a developmental thing.

oh really? Yeah even if I put her on the bed to put laundry away still not good enough, it’s so hard isn’t it. My son was clingy but nothing like this. I totally agree I think it’s a developmental thing also. I also googled and teething can play a big part which she is, I’m hoping in the next few weeks a tooth cuts because her gums have been really hurting her. Thank you for the response tho, glad to know I’m not the only one who’s been through it
