...for their birthdays?

DS is 2 early June .We will actually be in butlins for his birthday so will probably only take something small for him to open there and do the rest when we are back.

He likes cars and trains but has loads of these. Was going to get him a water table for the summer anyway ( a friend is giving me hers) and then I'm a bit lost. wont be spending silly money but want to get him a few nice bits.

Got me to thinking ... i wonder what what others got their 2 year olds?

Some basic art and craft supplies are good. Can put a lot of it away if he's not interested yet and get it back out in 6 months time.
Mine also loves kinetic sand and accessories to play with that.
Toot toot cars & garage is popular too.
Books.

A toy kitchen, plastic food and some kitchen type toys. Honestly, played with everyday and never gets bored!

Lego duplo

Playdoh - well loved by my 2 year old!

Doctor’s kit

Wooden puzzles

Here to second the toy kitchen. We got one second hand from FB marketplace and it's still played with almost daily over 2 years later.

Swing

PlantDoctor · 10/04/2024 20:00

I tell a lie, the balance bike was Christmas. We got her a toy kitchen for her birthday. It was used daily for about a year, but then turned into an oversized book storage cupboard. I want to get rid of it but she insists she still loves it at 4, despite never playing with it, so that's something to consider!

Ride on toys are perfect at this age. White company did a lovely little metal retro racing car ride on when my youngest was 2 and it’s still used three years later
