My DD is 6 and for the past couple of months has stopped wiping after some of her poos and is leaving big smears in her knickers. I’ve spoken to her about hygiene, that her bum will get sore, concerns about smells, etc. I’ve told her she can call me to
help if she’s struggling (which she did when she was younger) She says she “forgets” but I’m doubtful about that as she managed fine until recently. Absolutely no idea why she’s doing this and seems fine in all other regards.
I’m really not sure how to handle this now. So far I’ve been quite gentle while also explaining firmly the importance of
wiping. I’m worried about punishing her and giving her some sort of complex but at the same time, I know she is perfectly
capable and I am starting to get a bit cross
now. Can anyone advise?
