What colour would you say my child’s eyes are?

Greeny Grey?

Or possibly Hazel?

Legoninjago1 · 09/04/2024 17:48

Hmm tricky. Green with Very light hazel flecks ? Lovely tho!

The middle photo is not great light for colour identification.

The other two photos they look grey. They look that undefinable blue grey that babies have before their eyes settle into their proper colour

Thanks for the answers, I’ll add some more pics. They look fairly light so I don’t think they’ll turn brown

Yes green

InTheRainOnATrain · 09/04/2024 18:20

My DD’s were the same at that age, I still couldn’t tell you what colour they are but they finally landed on hazel at around 3!

Legoninjago1 · 09/04/2024 18:21

Eye colour fascinates me. I have one with very dark brown eyes and one with very light blue eyes! Same father!

USAmummy24 · 09/04/2024 18:23

Me too! Both her father and I have brown eyes. Genetics are strange!

My DS has similar although with more gold flecks, they're very changeable. Green or grey depending on the light. In our case I think genetically speaking it's technically hazel, as there's a clear line of that colour in the family (me, my mum and grandmother) even though we're all a different shade of it.

The middle picture looks very like baby eyes that haven't set yet. To me they look too dark to end up light blue and not dark enough to end up dark brown but they could end up anything inbetween from dark blue to grey to green to hazel to amber

chattyness · 09/04/2024 18:33

They're like mine greeny/grey & they will look more green or grey depending on what they wear too so I've been told. Our mum has hazel eyes ,our dad has green, all us kids are different too dark brown, dark blue & light blue & yes we all share the same parents!

Aswellisnotoneword · 10/04/2024 00:24

I had another look and in all but 1 photo there's clearly a ring of brown/gold around the pupil, so I'm going with hazel.

I see the ring too, I’m not sure if it’s going to grow and take over as the main colour. Hazel eyes would be cool, I always assumed my child would have brown eyes. I guess we’ll see!

Yes they change depending on the weather, the clothes and the lighting!

I see that too but I thought they would’ve darkened up by now. I read that it can take a few years to properly settle

Usually it's about 12 months. Eyed can continue to change over ones lifetime but not dramatically.
They usually settle into something indicative by 6-9 months and firmly by 12 months.
