Constipated 4 week old? *POO PICTURE*

Hi all!
My little girl is 4 weeks old and formula fed. Since birth she's only been doing one BIG poo a day, sometimes every other day. Midwife and HV both said this is normal as long as it's not irritating her as some babies will literally not go for days and days. We were advised to put her on the cow and gate comfort formula. For the past couple of days, these poos have been coming out thick, long and hard. Has anyone else had this? Sorry for the grim pictures!
Tia

My little boy who is also formula fed and 3 months old had really bad constipation when he was a few weeks old. We tried so many things to cure it or to help him as he was uncomfortable. In the end our health visitor suggested swapping brand of formula. We went from Cow and Gate to Aptimal. He was much better and having normal poos within 3 or 4 days.

Have you tried a different brand entirely. Although all brands are meant to be the same some are suited to different babies.

I'll try this! Thank you ❤️
Anything to help her at this point 😩 do you think switch to just aptamil or to aptamil comfort?
Aptamil is definitely the one I'd swap to as it's what my first baby had! I just happened to give my little girl cow and gate this time as it's what we picked up in the ready made bottles for my hospital bag x

I've never tried any of the comfort versions so couldn't say either way. But try and swap of brand might make the difference.

We tried everything before, running man legs, massage, baths, warmer formula, warm water, sitting in 'toilet pose' so gravity does it thing and none of these helped a lot.
