Cot transition

How can I make the transition from Moses basket to cot easier? I tried it last night with my 16 week old (in my room of course) and my baby was up a lot more and she really cried each time she was put back in the cot 😞

Put the Moses basket in the cot while they get used to seeing the bars.
Then put them in the cot for day naps, but the Moses basket at night for better sleep. Eventually they will like the space in the cot.
